The Automotive Industries Association of Canada has announced that a cornerstone event of its activities at the Las Vegas AAPEX Show has been cancelled.
“After careful consideration and in consultation with industry partners, Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada and its Canada Night Committee announced that the 2021 Canada Night event has been cancelled,” says the association.
The event was originally scheduled to take place on November 2, 2021, at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, during the AAPEX event.
“As the host of Canada Night, AIA Canada has a responsibility to ensure that they offer a safe, high-quality event that provides value and offers sponsors and attendees an unmatched opportunity to connect, network, and socialize with industry peers from across Canada and around the world,” continued a statement.
“Canada Night is an event that we all look forward to every year and one of our favorite ways to celebrate the Canadian aftermarket industry, however this year we cannot guarantee a quality event that provides return on investment for our sponsors,” said AIA Canada Chairman and Canada Night Committee Chair, Bob Jaworksi.
“It was a difficult decision to make, however, we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today,” said AIA Canada President, Jean-François Champagne.
AIA Canada and its Canada Night committee wish to extend a special thank you to all of the event sponsors. Their ongoing support of Canada Night shows true camaraderie and their commitment to the Canadian aftermarket industry.
All event sponsors will receive a full refund of sponsorship fees, says the association..
Canada Night is an annual celebration of the Canadian automotive aftermarket, presented by AIA Canada. It has been a highlight of the aftermarket’s social calendar since 1971.
