Industry veteran Ben Lalonde has been named chair of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada’s Automotive Service Provider (ASP) Council.
Lalonde acquired his automotive service technician license with inter-provincial designation to become one of the youngest licensed technicians in Ontario at the age of 19. By the age of 22, he was shop foreman of one of the largest Tire and Auto Service shops in Ottawa. Under his direction and management, Orleans Autopro was finalist for ”Service Business of the Year” in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and Nominee for “Business Person of the Year 2011″ by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce.
In 2012, Lalonde received the prestigious award of “Business Person of the Year” followed by “Sales and Service Business of the Year” in 2013. To further his knowledge, Ben completed the Telfer Executive MBA Program offered by the University of Ottawa, which he graduated in June 2016.
In 2015, he, along with three of his Executive MBA colleagues, founded Rebel Technologies, a shop management platform that illuminates the dark corners of the automotive service industry by giving significant control to the customers. In June 2016, he was the recipient of the prestigious “Forty under 40” award which recognizes 40 local business leaders who continue to impact their community in a positive way.
Lalonde is currently the CEO of Rebel Technologies and is committed to bringing the automotive service industry into the 21st century.
About the Automotive Service Provider (ASP) Council
The AIA‘s ASP Council aims to bring together the automotive service provider sector with the aftermarket parts manufacturing and distribution networks in hopes to develop inclusive and comprehensive strategies to address industry concerns such as skilled labour, emerging technologies and market trends. The ASP Council is comprised of representatives from regional and provincial service provider associations, major retailers, and business information groups of major warehouse distributors.
