Latest Snap-on software upgrade includes Tesla

by | Nov 14, 2024 | 0 comments

With its latest diagnostic software upgrade, Snap-on introduces coverage for the Tesla Model S and Model X, further expanding the breadth and depth of manufacturer-level capabilities that shops need to handle today’s new technology.

Professional service technicians with Snap-on diagnostic tools using the newest software can now confidently service Tesla vehicles with brand-new coverage for 2012-2020 Model S and 2016-2020 Model X.

The new coverage includes ABS, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), body, charging, chassis, door and seats, high voltage, HVAC, infotainment, powertrain, restraint and security.

Additional support is available for 2023 and older Model Sand Model X manual procedures for on-board functions such as service mode, service alerts and gateway unlock.

Exclusive guided component tests for Tesla ABS are also available in the latest software upgrade. Guided component tests streamline the overall diagnostic process by showing where to hook up, how to hook up, known good waveforms and much more, eliminating the guesswork and confirming the repair.

Guided component tests for the 2012-2022 Model S and 2015-2022 Model X include ABS module, brake fluid level switch, brake pedal switch, electric brake booster, electronic parking brake actuator,  iBooster® pedal sensor, wheel speed sensor and yaw rate sensor.

To learn Tesla diagnostic tips, technicians can view OEM-specific training free of charge on the Snap-on Diagnostics YouTube channel.

In addition to Tesla, Snap-on EV coverage is offered for Alfa Romeo, Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volkswagen and more.
